According to Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore, defensive line coach Greg Scruggs resigned Thursday. The announcement comes after he was arrested Saturday for allegedly operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

“I just received notice that Greg Scruggs has resigned his position, effective immediately,” Moore said. “I am unable to comment further as this is a University matter.”

Scruggs previously was arrested for a DUI charge in 2011, making his OWI his second documented offense.

Scruggs was officially hired on March 6, and now with his resignation, the Wolverines will have to reopen their hiring search.
