Following its Sweet Sixteen overtime loss to No. 5 Baylor on Saturday, the Michigan women’s basketball team’s chartered plane made an emergency landing in Evansville, Ind., on its return. As of 6 a.m. the team was safely back in Michigan.
“We were flying through a storm and lost pressure on our plane,” a team spokesperson said. “The oxygen masks came down and we made an emergency landing in Evansville. We are awaiting our next move.”
Everyone on board is safe and, besides a few bloody noses, unharmed. The team has ordered pizza while they wait for the next move.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
