At the moment, 15 major construction or renovation projects totaling more than $1.3 billion are underway across campus. Here’s a look at some of the larger projects that will change the face of campus over the next several years.

North Quad Residential and Academic Complex
When completed, the 220,000 square foot complex will house four LSA departments, the School of Information and provide housing for 460 University students.
Estimated completion date: Summer of 2010
Estimated cost: $175 million
Central Campus Utility Tunnel Replacements
The University is replacing 320 feet of utility tunnels between Mason
Hall and the Natural Science Building in an effort to update steam,
condensate and water lines.
Estimated completion date: Winter 2009
Estimated cost: $6.1 million
Stockwell Residence Hall
The dorm’s dining room and courtyard are being converted into
community space, and its bathrooms, plumbing and heating systems are
being renovated.
Estimated completion date: Summer 2009
Estimated cost: $39.6 million
C.S. Mott Children’s & Women’s Hospitals
The two buildings, totaling approximately 1.1 million square feet, are
slated to include state-of-the-art clinical and inpatient facilities
for children and women.
Estimated completion date: Fall of 2010
Estimated cost: $523 million
Alumni Memorial Hall Museum of Art
A 54,000-square-foot addition to the Museum of Art and renovations to the original building were officially completed this summer.
Collections are now being moved back to the museum.
Estimated completion date: Spring, 2009
Estimated cost: $41.9 million
Stephen M. Ross Business School
New facilities will feature 12-tiered classrooms, an auditorium, faculty offices, student services activities space and a food court.
Estimated completion date: October 2008, with classes slated to begin in January 2009
Estimated cost: $145 million
