Freshman sensation Alan Webb will not be competing tomorrow when the Michigan men”s track and field team hosts the Red Simmons Invitational at the Indoor Track Building.

“Alan has a problem with his Achilles and we don”t want to push anything,” coach Ron Warhurst said in a statement. “We expect Alan to run in a couple of weeks, but in the meantime, there are still a lot of great runners competing this weekend, such as Nathan Brannen, Kevin Sullivan and Tim Broe.”

Field events at the Red Simmons Invitational will start at 9:30 a.m., and the running events will begin around noon.

Advance tickets for the Red Simmons Invitational are available through the Michigan Athletic Ticket Office.

Only a limited number will be set aside for students.

Interested students are encouraged to arrive early to ensure entrance.
