Michigan athletic director Bill Martin said yesterday the Wolverines won’t find out their bowl destination until after next weekend’s games are played out.

While Martin said the Wolverines are likely headed to the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Fla. or the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla., he said since the Big Ten doesn’t know for sure if Iowa will receive the Rose Bowl invitation, Michigan will have to wait another week before making plans.

“I just got off the phone with the Big Ten Commissioner, and that’s what he told me,” Martin said over the phone last night. “We know nothing at this point.”

It’s possible that the BCS could select a team with a large draw such as Notre Dame to play in the Rose Bowl, even if the bowl usually takes the Big Ten champion.
