Easily the most demonically dark tour of the summer, the Unholy Alliance Tour made its stop at Cobo Arena in Detroit on July 6th. With a line up so heavy it hits you before you even enter the venue and a name to match, it seems like this may not be a one time outing, but perhaps a returning summer package tour. Fronted by the sultans of death metal, Slayer, the tour has a double decade band behind the reigns of this behemoth. “They’re legends,” said Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton, “I was the fan buying tickets to their shows and now I’m touring with them.” Slayer, along with equally heavy bands Lamb of God, Mastodon and Children of Bodom made a crushing appearance in the motor city and left Cobo Arena in their destructive path.
