“Up in the Air”
4 out of 5 stars

“Up in the Air” was embraced as one of the best pictures of the year at the Telluride Film Festival, and with its artfully constructed trailer, audiences should have high expectations for its release this fall. The preview features a very lonely-looking George Clooney lyrically narrating disheartening advice behind a montage of stunning aerial shots and wordless thespian interactions. Still, the trailer gives almost nothing away about the film’s plot. As with director Jason Reitman’s previous films, which include “Juno,” — the movie looks to have a strong ensemble of comedic actors, featuring Jason Bateman of “Arrested Development” fame, who seems to be making a comeback. This just glows with Oscar potential.
