The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for Washtenaw County effective Monday from 1:10 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday.

At 11:40 a.m. NWS issued a hazardous weather outlook for Washtenaw County due to scattered thunderstorms throughout the Great Lakes Region. At 1:10 p.m. NWS updated the outlook to a tornado watch scheduled to last until 8 p.m.

According to the NWS outlook, severe thunderstorms will most likely occur between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m., with the possibility of hail and damaging winds. The center also predicts moderate chance of tornadoes and supercells over the the southern Great Lakes and mid-Ohio area.

Update: the National Weather Service cancelled the tornado watch at approximately 5:30 p.m.
