The nonconference season is over, and, as many coaches say, it’s time for the second season to start. Michigan begins the defense of its Big Ten title with the Wolverines’ road opener in Madison against Wisconsin.

The Badgers are coming off a lackluster 14-5 win over North Carolina. Quarterback John Stocco threw for 138 yards, while running back Brian Calhoun rushed for 171 yards and two scores on 38 carries. The Badgers’ ground game – led by Calhoun – is the focus of the offense. Wisconsin is 3-0 heading into this weekend.
