1. LSA academic advisors will be available to answer quick questions for students without an advising appointment from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. The Newnan Advising Center is located in room 1225 of Angell Hall.

2. A job opening in the Four Points hotel chain drew a record number of applicants. More than 7,000 people applied to be the chain’s first CBO – Chief Beer Officer, National Public Radio reported. The job’s primary duty is to select beers for the hotel chain’s menu.

3. Norman Mailer’s “The Castle and the Forest” won the Literary Review’s 2007 Bad Sex in Fiction Award. The prize is given annually for the most “unconvincing, perfunctory, embarrassing or redundant” sexual passages in “otherwise sound literary novels.”
