2 – A student at Heidelberg College was named the safety service director of Lorain, Ohio after spending just one month as an intern, The Associated Press reported. He got the $7,500-per-month job after the mayor’s first two choices turned it down.

3 – This weekend is the only weekend this fall when the Michigan football, men’s basketball and hockey teams will play regular-season games. The Michigan football team plays at Wisconsin tomorrow while Radford and Brown visit Crisler Arena for basketball games today and Sunday and Alaska visits for a two-game hockey series today and tomorrow.
