2:The average price for a gallon of gasoline in Britain reached $8 yesterday, according to Britain’s Automobile Association. The average price for an American gallon was $3.04 yesterday, according to AAA.

3:Charles Baxter’s novel “The Feast of Love” is set in Ann Arbor, but the recent film adaptation starring Morgan Freeman and Greg Kinnear is set in a small Oregon town. Baxter is a former head of the University’s Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Program.
