John Shouneyia
Senior/Center
Shouneyia had five assists on the weekend. He tallied three helpers in Friday’s 10-3 win – including two in the first period’s seven-goal outburst – and added two more assists on Saturday. He set up Michael Woodford in front of the net early in the second period to tie the game at one. In the third, he assisted on the Wolverines’ third goal.
Jed Ortmeyer
Senior/Forward
Ortmeyer was the main beneficiary of Shouneyia’s passing. Michigan’s captain had his first career hat trick Friday night in the first period. The Omaha, Neb. native finished the game with four goals – three of which came on passes from Shouneyia.
Brandon Rogers
Sophomore/Defenseman
Rogers had three assists in Michigan’s 10-3 win on Friday night. He helped set up two of the Wolverines’ first four goals, including Ortmeyer’s tally just 52 seconds into the game. On Saturday, Rogers beat Western Michigan goalie Mike Mantua 3:02 into the third period to give Michigan a 3-1 lead.
