A University student was robbed just after midnight Wednesday on Washtenaw Avenue near Hill Street, according to a campus crime alert issued by University Police early Wednesday morning.

An unknown man approached the student on the 1400 block of Washtenaw Avenue, police said.

The man pressed a cold object against the student’s back and demanded money. After the victim gave the man money, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a “possibly white male,” between six feet and six feet four inches tall. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black warm-up pants.

Anyone with information about the crime should contact University Police at 763-1131, or the Ann Arbor Police Department tip line at 996-3199.
