IOWA CITY – Considering Michigan’s current string of close games, it’s hard to believe nose tackle Gabe Watson thought it was “funny” that Iowa got the ball back with 2:42 left in the fourth quarter.
At least, that’s not what I was thinking.
My thought process went something like this: Michigan’s defense wasn’t able to stop Wisconsin or Minnesota, and it took last-second heroics from Chad Henne and Mario Manningham to overcome its collapse against Penn State. I almost expected Michigan to lose – all I was thinking was “not again.”
