Michigan State Police issued an all-clear this afternoon following a report of a suspicious package found on Fourth Avenue between Liberty Street and William Street — near the Blake Transit Center, post office and Federal Building — according to Ann Arbor Police Lieutenant Angela Abrams.

The report was made to the Ann Arbor Police Department after someone noticed the mysterious package at about 12:30 p.m., Abrams said, adding that AAPD called the Michigan State Police as a “precautionary measure.”

Abrams added the police proceeded to block off East Liberty at South Fourth Avenue around 2 p.m. and examined the package before deeming it safe and issuing an all-clear. The package is currently in their possession and Abrams said she could give no further details at this time.
