The 83-year-old mother of 11 has lived in North Dakota her entire life, but her kids and grandchildren are spread out around the country. Her two oldest sons enlisted in the Navy, which fueled her decision to pick the Midshipmen in the Emerald Bowl. She also has grandchildren in Boise, Hawaii, Colorado and Texas — which helped her reason through some tough choices. Trying desperately to overtake Mattu, Burke opposed the leader in 19 different games.
