Police are searching for a man who broke into a student’s apartment around noon last Sunday on the 500 block of Packard Street.
Ann Arbor Police Detective Ryan Zasadny said the victim had been sleeping when the intruder forced open her door. She heard a loud bang and walked out of her bedroom to find the man standing in her apartment. He turned and fled when he saw her.
Zasadny said police have been pursuing several leads, none of which have proved fruitful so far.
He also said a person who forces entry into an apartment in broad daylight is not likely to be a first time offender and could be a threat to the community.
“We’re trying to get to the bottom of this real quick,” Zasadny said.
Anyone with information should call Detective Greg Jones at 734-996-2388 or the AAPD tip line at 996-3199.
