It was an impressive performance by the defense, allowing just three points to Minnesota. Even though it’s Minnesota, the Gophers do average 30 points and nearly 440 total yards per game. They also present the challenge of a spread offense and a mobile quarterback, two things the Wolverine defense has struggled with in the past.

Carr-o-meter

Carr was in a pretty good mood after the game. He didn’t have as many jokes as usual, but he seemed to enjoy the win and the recapture of the Brown Jug. He was still guarded about the returns of quarterback Chad Henne and running back Mike Hart, and he wasn’t angry with a question inquiring about an apparent injury to tight end Carson Butler.

Hypemeter

Much of it probably had to do with the rain, wind and cold, but there was almost nobody in the student section when the game started. The crowd filled in by the middle of the first quarter, but barely anyone was wearing maize, and the fans were pretty quiet throughout the game. But it was Minnesota, without Hart and Henne, so it was probably to be expected.
