Machine Head
Hellalive
Roadrunner Records
The latest in a long line of heavy metal live albums, Machine Head’s Hellalive is a worthy continuation of this tradition. Boasting better than average production (live metal records usually sound thin), the instruments are crisp, clear and most importantly, heavy. Machine Head gives a tight performance, and vocalist Robb Flynn effortlessly alternates between singing and gut-wrenching screams. With a strong setlist borrowing from every MH album, this serves as a good introduction to the band. While not groundbreaking, Hellalive is a good choice for any metalhead and a no-brainer for Machine Head fans.
