The three Michigan men’s tennis team members who made the journey to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to compete in the Crimson Tide Fall Championships didn’t exactly reap the desired benefits from the trip.
Of the three, just sophomore George Navas escaped the first round, topping Mathieu Thibaudeau from Alabama, before exiting in the second round.
The other two players, freshman Chris Madden and junior Mike DePietro, both bowed out in the first round.
Michigan will reconvene as a team Nov. 9 in Ann Arbor for the Big Ten singles championships.
