The Michigan men’s track and field team set out this weekend to avenge its 88-74 loss to Ohio State in the indoor version of “The Dual” back in January.
Unfortunately for the Wolverines, the Buckeyes prevailed in the outdoor edition of the rivalry as well, winning 109-94 on Sunday.
Michigan, though, did not go without several standout performers, as two athletes set meet records. Freshman Cody Riffle launched the discus 179-6 feet, and sophomore Austin DeWildt reached 17-0 3/4 in the pole vault.
Other Wolverine winners included redshirt sophomore Matthew Campbell in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash, freshman Ali Arastu in the 400-meter hurdles, sophomore Dallas Bowden in the 800-meter run, redshirt junior Craig Forys in the 3000-meter steeplechase and redshirt freshman Daniel James in the high jump.
Next weekend, Michigan will take the short trip to Ypsilanti to compete in the Eastern Michigan Invitational.
