Not even 30 mph winds and rainy conditions could slow down senior Lindsay Davis and the Michigan women’s golf team this weekend at the Gainesville Shootout III.

In Gainesville, Fla., Davis led the Wolverine attack, tying her career-best score of 70 Thursday.

Michigan capped off the weekend by taking third place, its best finish yet this season.

The Wolverines looked to be in the driver’s seat after they posted a 302 in the second round to give them a two-day total of 611. But unforced errors dropped Michigan from first to third, giving the Wolverines a 54-hole total of 920.

Davis was helped out by sophomore Ashley Bauer, who recorded her fifth top-20 finish of the season. Bauer ended the weekend with a three-day total of 230.

Freshman Min Yean Tan continued to impress the coaching staff as she tied for 24th.

Michigan is off for two weeks before it heads to Tucson, Arizona to compete in the Mountain View Challenge.
