A fire at Lake Village Apartments near Main Street damaged about 10 units and displaced residents Wednesday afternoon.
No one was hurt, but Ann Arbor Fire Department firefighters rescued a cat.
Chuck Hubbard, battalion chief of the department, said the blaze started on Lake Village Drive and spread to the complex’s adjoining buildings. He said the cause of the fire had not yet been determined.
“The wind was blowing really hard so that made it tough,” he said.
Hubbard said the building’s sprinklers and alarms were working properly, but failed to contain the fire.
The fire department learned of the fire at about 2:25 p.m. and spent about two hours dousing the flames.
The managers of Lake Village Apartments had no comment.
