Local 25 ironworkers Tommy Lawhorn and Dave Bergman attach the final piece of structural steel to North Quad Residential and Academic Complex on Tuesday. This is known as “topping out” and is a symbol that the structure has reached its highest point. An American flag, University of Michigan flag and a pine tree are attached to symbolize growth and bring good luck. North Quad will eventually house 450 students and a variety of classrooms and spaces for the University.
