Dental student Ryan Turner died early yesterday morning at the age of 27.
He collapsed while running on a treadmill at the Central Campus Recreation Building and was pronounced dead at the University Hospital a short time later, the Department of Public Safety reported.
Turner collapsed at about 7:15 a.m, The Ann Arbor News reported.
DPS is investigating the cause of Turner’s death.
Turner was from Eugene, Ore. He graduated from Willamette High School in 1998. According to his profile on Facebook.com, Turner enjoyed baseball, soccer, golf and bowling. He enjoyed wine and photography. His music tastes encompassed “almost everything.”
One of his favorite movies, Zoolander, was quoted prominently in his profile. His profile also said he was a fan of the Lord of the Rings trilogy – both the books and movies.
His sister, Sarah, attends the University of Oregon.
