Gubernatorial nominee Jennifer Granholm and several of the Democratic Party’s candidates for statewide office will be the subjects of a rally to be held this morning at the Michigan Union.

Granholm, the state attorney general, will appear with running mate John Cherry Jr., incumbent U.S. Senate candidate Carl Levin, 15th Congressional District incumbent John Dingell, as well as University regent candidates Ismael Ahmed and Greg Stephens.

Doors to the Union Ballroom will open at 10:45 a.m. with the rally beginning at 11:30.

Granholm faces Republican Lt. Gov. Dick Posthumus in the Nov. 5 election.

Also on hand will be U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Lansing) and Robert Kennedy Jr., son of the late attorney general and U.S. senator and nephew of President John F. Kennedy.
