During the Central Student Government meeting Tuesday night, Students Allied for Freedom and Democracy — the University’s chapter of the activist organization Students for Justice in Palestine — is slated to present a resolution calling on the University to divest its interests in companies allegedly involved in the violation of Palestinian human rights.

The proposal calls on CSG to support a committee through the University’s Board of Regents to examine these investments. SAFE presented a similar resolution last year, which ultimately failed to pass through CSG. Last year, discussion of the resolution drew hundreds of supporters and opponents to the Michigan Union.
