Counterfeit $20 bills used in cafeteria

When: Monday at about 1 p.m.
What: Two possibly counterfeit $20 bills were used in the hospital cafeteria on Nov. 28 and Nov. 29, the Department of Public Safety reported. The police have turned over the incident to the Secret Service for further investigation.
Wallet stolen from backpack
Where: Mary Markley Residence Hall
When: Monday at about noon
What: A wallet was stolen from a student’s backpack sometime between 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. The wallet, valued itself at $20, contained $30 in cash and credit cards that have not been used, DPS reported. Police have no suspects.
Lab chemicals spilled
Where: Medical Science Research Building III
When: Tuesday at about 2 p.m.
What: Two glass bottles of viral Supernant and Ethona fell off of a cart wheeled by a staff member. The chemical spill was cleaned up by Occupational Safety & Environmental Health staff. No one was exposed to the chemicals or injured.
Doorknob vandalized in League
Where: Michigan League
When: Monday at about 2 p.m.
What: Maintenance staff discovered that a doorknob from an interior door had been kicked off over the weekend, DPS reported. The damage is estimated at $25, according to police.
