It’s still too early in the year to break out the peep-toe sandals – but roam the mall and you’ll realize how silly you were to think you could purchase boots in February. Stores are selling flip-flops months in advance of warmer weather, while we’re still waiting for A2 to thaw. But at least we can start experimenting with the new trends for spring hair.
What looks have emerged for the upcoming season, you ask? The spring 2007 runways presented the usual, for the most part. Mussed knots at Marni and Vera Wang; sleek, slick styles at Zac Posen, Ralph Lauren and others.
Headbands made a solid comeback. Marc Jacobs featured jeweled bands and Burberry Prorsum showed minimalist neutrals. The most eye-popping styles were in Valentino’s pastel spring collection: Skinny bands of cherry red set off lavender and butter-yellow dresses. For a number of spring’s stark looks, these add an unexpected pop of color.
The coolest trend showing up on the runway and beyond is a fresh, modern bang – not side-swept, baby or wispy – simply straight and classic,
