The No. 21 Michigan wrestling team couldn’t hold an early lead against No. 9 Wisconsin, falling to the Badgers 21-15 at Cliff Keen Arena yesterday.

Redshirt freshman Jordan Sherrod and sophomore Tyrel Todd both won their matches at 174 pounds and 184 pounds, respectively, to give the Wolverines the early edge.

But the tide turned quickly, and Wisconsin won the next five matches to go into the intermission.

Wins from juniors Josh Churella and Eric Tannenbaum helped Michigan in its uphill battle, but Badger victories in six of the last eight duels would seal the home team’s fate.

Tannenbaum’s victory keeps his record perfect at 17-0.
