After seven seasons on HBO, TV’s “Arli$$” has ended its seven season run.
The Sept. 8 episode ending the show’s seventh, and now final season, saw sports agent extrodinaire Arliss Michaels pass control of his sports management agency to his assistants.
Michael Boatman (as Stanley Babson), Jim Turner (as Kirby Carlisle) and Sandra Oh (as Rita Wu) have all been displaced from the cast of the now-defunct show.
Although it never obtained the critical success of “The Sopranos,” “Six Feet Under” or “Sex and the City,” the show did manage to reach its highest ratings this past season.
Debuting in 1996, “Arli$$” followed the eponymous agent (Robert Wuhl, “Batman”) as he always sought more money and more bigname clients.
Perhaps best known for its celebrity appearances each week (Roger Clemens, Bob Costas and others made cameos at one time or another), “Arli$$” also faced strong criticism from HBO fans and critics alike, who felt the show didn’t jell with the higher acclaimed, Emmy-nominated dramas.
