On Monday, the Ann Arbor Police Department announced the arrest of an Ypsilanti resident associated with three robberies that occurred near the University of Michigan campus in January and February. A fourth robbery that occurred during those months is still under investigation.

Ann Arbor police have stated that Shams Tabriz, the 30-year-old man convicted of sexually assaulting a student inside Landmark on May 6, most likely skipped bond and left the country earlier this week.

This morning, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a sexual assault occurred at the 1100 block of East University near Prospect Street.

Wednesday night, four suspects were arrested for committing an aggravated assault at the West Hall Arch at the intersection of South University Avenue and East University Avenue. Three suspects were taken to jail and the fourth was released pending warrant authorization.

An Ann Arbor man, Shamz Tabriz, was formally charged on May 9 after reportedly breaking into a 19-year-old woman’s apartment on South U, sexually assaulting her two roommates, and then assaulting her.

The Ann Arbor Police Department has identified the man who carried out an armed carjacking early Friday morning on the 600 block of East Washington Street, as 17 year old Zachary Scott according to a crime alert sent out by the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security.
