When one spends their days consumed by Zoom calls, never ending discussions posts and computer screens, it’s easy to feel trapped in a technological world of ones and zeros. This school year has been draining not only my computer battery but also my mental battery.

Since March, I’ve had it easy. I haven’t lost any family members, and my parents have kept their jobs. Nonetheless, adjusting to the new normal has been a tremendous pivot.

Since its launch in 2008, the School of Kinesiology has never had its own building. But, starting this year, that will change. The E.H. Kraus Building, which is now the School of Kinesiology Building, has been under construction for the past two years.

The pandemic has made it more difficult for some college students to make new friends. To make myself less lonely, I started to acquire plants. Maybe they don’t talk to you, but that makes them perfect listeners. I now have something to care for, a life to hold in my hands.
