Even under normal circumstances, there’s so little overlap between the countless communities and organizations that exist at the University of Michigan.

Ann Arbor in a pandemic looks almost like a normal summer. There’s too much construction, kids playing frisbee on the Diag and squirrels looking for a snack.

Since I’m a little too close with my friends from high school, and since most of my new friends are also from Ann Arbor, I decided to take advantage of my failure to branch out in college and make a photo essay honoring our favorite teachers from across Ann Arbor Public Schools.

Hundreds gathered outside the Michigan Capitol Thursday morning to protest Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s COVID-19 policies. Some of the demonstrators outside the Capitol openly carried firearms, raised confederate flags and held signs demanding "freedom." 

Rides at the Seaside Heights boardwalk are closed during the off-season.

I’ve never been to an empty boardwalk and now I can understand why. It’s haunting. Empty rides. Closed arcades. The ferris wheel didn’t have chairs attached to it (I didn’t know they could come off in the first place ... which is not the most assuring thought).
