While in India on my post high school gap-year program, I visited Sarah College for Higher Tibetan Studies in Dharamsala, India. The school was founded for the purposes of educating the Tibetan community living in exile in the areas of Tibetan language and literature. Outside the classroom, students are seen playing pick-up basketball games on the school’s basketball court. The community looks at sports as a way of getting their people together, especially the youth. Basketball is very popular among Tibetan youth, who admire players like Steph Curry and Lebron James. During my visit, my program played a friendly game of basketball against Sarah College. The game ended in a win for Sarah College. Here are some photos from the game.
