My journey from the San Francisco Bay Area to Michigan was long but beautiful, taking me through northern Arizona and southern Utah. Along the way, I experienced the awesome power of four national parks: Arches, the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion. Every park was filled with massive red rocks, but each had its own unique aspects. Staying past sundown at Arches allowed me to see the milky way at its brightest, while the Grand Canyon looked most beautiful at sunset. Walking along the floor of Bryce Canyon put the scale of the red rocks in perspective, as I looked up at towering monoliths. I highly suggest to anyone who hasn’t been to this part of the country yet to go; you’ll experience some of the most unique and breathtaking geology the world has to offer.
