Tim Kaine to visit University campus for rally
U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine (D–VA), the Democratic nominee for vice president, will visit Ann Arbor Tuesday for a rally on the University of Michigan Diag.
Kaine is expected to speak to students and residents about why his running mate, Hillary Clinton, should earn their vote, as well as encourage students to register to vote by the Oct. 11 deadline. The rally will be hosted by Hillary for Michigan and the Michigan Democratic Party.
Kaine’s last visit to Michigan was on Aug. 5, when he spoke in Grand Rapids about the differences between Clinton and the Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump. Clinton was last in Michigan on Aug. 11, when she spoke in Detroit.
Democrats have won Michigan in the presidential election since 1988, though Trump has suggested several times during the campaign that he wants to flip Michigan.
The Democratic ticket is currently projected to win Michigan by 7 percentage points, according to an average of the latest polls.
