The Department of Public Safety and Security issued a crime alert Wednesday at 11:58 a.m. after an armed robbery occurred on the 1200 block of South University near South Forest Avenue earlier in the morning.
Witnesses told the the Ann Arbor Police Department that two men robbed a retail store at approximately 2:55 a.m. on Wednesday. According to the witnesses, one of the robbers displayed a small handgun during the robbery.
The two men ran away on foot in the direction of the Church Street parking garage.
Witnesses described the perpetrators as two white males wearing baseball hats, dark-colored hoodies and bandanas over their faces.
