Photo Gallery: Downtown Ann Arbor holiday
Walking through downtown Ann Arbor on a Saturday night in December, in any other year, would be a lively experience. Bustling sidewalks filled with people shopping, going out to bars, and eating at the many restaurants nearby. However, with many students gone until next semester and the general public mindful of the coronavirus, downtown Ann Arbor felt very lonely, even with the bright lights adorned across the trees and buildings. While many restaurants had outdoor seating, they were sparsely filled, even those which had outdoor heating or individual enclosures. This led to a very strange combination of the excitement of the coming holiday season, and the emptiness of quarantine life.
