Men's basketball reschedules games with Illinois, Michigan State
On Friday, the Michigan men’s basketball team announced three changes to the remainder of its schedule for the 2020-21 season.
The Wolverines will host Illinois on Mar. 2 and Michigan State on Mar. 4. Their clash with Iowa, originally scheduled for Mar. 4, will now take place on Feb. 25.
With the changes, Michigan is now slated to play a 17-game conference slate, as opposed to the original 20-game schedule. The Wolverines missed five games as a result of the two-week University pause on all athletics, stemming from concerns over the novel B.1.1.7 COVID-19 variant.
In addition to postponing games against Illinois and Michigan State during the pause, Michigan missed games against Penn State, Indiana and Northwestern.
The Wolverines next take the court on Sunday against No. 4 Ohio State in Columbus.
Their updated schedule is listed below:
Feb. 21 at Ohio State
Feb. 25 vs. Iowa
Feb. 27 at Indiana
Mar. 2 vs. Illinois
Mar. 4 vs. Michigan State
Mar. 7 at Michigan State
