Two home invasions off campus reported by AAPD
Two separate home invasions occurred on the 900 block of East Ann Street and the 900 block East Huron Street off campus Monday afternoon.
According to the Ann Arbor Police Department, the suspect entered the front door of the residence on East Ann Street at about 12:50 p.m. on Monday. The resident then confronted the suspect, and the suspect responded by asking whether the resident had any spare cans, to which the resident responded no.
Following the first encounter, the suspect exited the residence and then entered another residence on East Huron Street. The suspect went into one of the bedrooms where a resident was sleeping and fled the scene after the resident woke up.
The suspect was described as a male approximately 40 to 50 years old with a grey beard. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, dark pants, a dark hat and sunglasses.
AAPD did not respond to requests for comment at the time of publication.
These are the second and third home invasions this November. The first incident occurred on Nov. 10 where a suspect was found in a home on the 200 block of North Thayer Street. The suspect knocked on the resident’s door and, after returning the resident’s wallet, the resident discovered money was missing.
