Body discovered in recent parking-garage-related death
At 12:36 p.m. on Thursday, a dead body was found following a fall from a parking garage, according to the Ann Arbor Police Department.
AAPD responded to an alert at the structure located at South Fourth Avenue and East Washington Street after a body was found lying in the alley adjacent the parking structure. The police have yet to determine whether the fall was a suicide or an accident.
This is just one in many parking-structure-related instances over the past year; from Nov. 2015 to Dec. 2016, two people were seriously injured and three died after jumping or falling from these buildings. None of Ann Arbor’s structures have railings high enough to prevent injury, though some structures are up to eight stories tall.
