Former University student charged with sexual assault after four years
According to a media release from the Ann Arbor Police Department, the AAPD and Detroit field office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Jimmy Huy Nguyen Tuesday. The report said Nguyen is charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree.
He allegedly sexually assaulted at least two University of Michigan students in the 600 block of East University Avenue in the fall of 2012 and winter of 2013; Nguyen was also a student at the University at the time.
After Nguyen committed the acts, he allegedly fled to China in early 2013. Investigators recently learned Nguyen was planning to return to the United States; he was detained at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
