Jury selection begins for former CSE professor Peter Chen trial
The first day of the trial against former U-M Computer Science and Engineering professor Peter Chen began on Monday in downtown Ann Arbor. Chen is pleading not guilty to a charge of criminal sexual misconduct in the first degree, defined as an act of sexual penetration with a victim under the age of 13 – a felony punishable by life in prison. The victim – who is set to testify in court later this week – alleges the offense took place on April 1, 2017. Read more about the details of the trial here.
