President Biden’s student loan forgiveness program struck down by federal judge: now what?

President Biden’s Student Debt Relief plan was struck down Thursday by a federal judge in Texas. Biden announced the plan in September with intentions of helping lower- and middle-class families lower the economic burden of student loans. This ruling –– along with the U.S. Department of Education’s halt on accepting applications for student debt relief –– is a major setback for the program. Learn more about the judge’s decision here.

Students react to President Ono’s first month as UMich president

Salvador Diaz’s “La Pelea” unveiled at the UMich Institute for the Humanities

The Institute for the Humanities unveiled La Pelea (The Fight) – a new 46-foot mural by artist Salvador Diaz. The long circular mural stands in the corner of the Institute on 202 S. Thayer St., allowing visitors to experience a variety of perspectives of the artwork. Learn more about Diaz’s motivation behind the piece.
