Student groups hold meeting on carbon neutrality priorities amid administration changes

Student representatives from various student organizations gathered at the Union on Tuesday to discuss concerns about the University’s carbon neutrality plan. With multiple significant University administration positions open, students raised concerns regarding the lack of criteria related to carbon neutrality stated in these hiring processes. 

Washtenaw community members meets to discuss implementing an unarmed safety response team

Over 200 Washtenaw County community members met over Zoom Wednesday night to discuss the implementation of an unarmed safety response team for the county. Led by members of the Coalition for Re-Envisioning Our Safety (CROS) — as well as several other sponsored organizations — the forum discussed the need for non-police responses to community crises as well as a path to implementation within the county.

Jim Harbaugh, Michigan agree to reworked five-year contract

In a press release on Wednesday, Jim Harbaugh announced that he agreed to reconstruct his contract to keep him at Michigan through the 2026 season. Though rumors about him potentially filling an NFL coaching vacancy circulated for roughly a month, Harbaugh instead agreed to remain in Ann Arbor if he could rework the details of his contract. “My family and I are excited to continue leading this football program,” Harbaugh said.
