Inmates report unsafe conditions, lack of COVID-19 measures in Michigan’s Kinross Correctional Facility
Michigan’s Kinross Correctional Facility is facing an intersection of issues due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most of which stem from either neglect of the guidelines in place or a lack of guidelines altogether. People incarcerated at the facility have complained about the disregard of quarantine guidelines, the lack of N95 masks for inmates and the inability to properly socially distance. With nine incarcerated people dying due to COVID-19 in the facility, as well as reports from inside the facility directly reporting the staff for unsafe COVID-19 measures, incarcerated individuals fear their health is not valued by prison staff.

Ann Arbor releases investigative report, determines no merit to discrimination claims against Interim City Administrator
The city of Ann Arbor released an investigative report regarding complaints against former Interim City Administrator John Fournier. Among other allegations, the report examines accusations that Fournier conducted an illegal background check on former HR Director Tom Guajardo, illegally manipulated city budget and accounting records to deceive City Council, told staff to “intentionally violate state law” regarding the city’s vaccine mandate and engaged in “unfair treatment” of people of color on staff. Attorney Jennifer Salvatore, in an independent investigation, concluded that Fournier did not violate any law or commit discrimination.

What can “Home Alone 2” teach us about 2024? A lot, apparently.
A classic movie for most come the Christmas season, the Home Alone movies offer not only an entertaining two hours of joy, but also insight into the next presidential election. In the second movie of the film series, the characters repeat the same mistakes from the first movie. As the 2024 election looms, the mistakes that happened in 2020 may repeat themselves.
