The Division of Public Safety and Security issued a crime alert Monday morning detailing a home invasion that occurred at 2:10 a.m at Northwood V housing on North Campus.

The alert reports a resident of a Northwood V townhouse was reportedly awoken in her upstairs bedroom by a noise she heard in her apartment. The resident opened her bedroom door and noticed an unknown male standing in the apartment, who then fled the area after being discovered. The individual gained entry to the apartment through an unlocked sliding glass door on the first floor.

The suspect is described by the witness as an Asian male with glasses who is estimated to be around 26-30 years old and 6’1” in height. The suspect was reportedly wearing a white t-shirt with a collar at the time of the break in.

The University of Michigan Police Department is investigating the incident. The alert urges those with any information to contact DPSS at (734) 763-1131.
