The University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security issued a crime alert Thursday night informing students that the Ann Arbor Police is currently investigating a home invasion that reportedly occurred on the 900 block of Greenwood Avenue Wednesday night at some point between 12:15 and 6:20 a.m.

One of the residents of the home noticed something was awry when they saw the front door was left wide open at 6:20 a.m. Though no items have been reported missing, and the other residents did not see any unfamiliar people in the house that night, another resident reported locking the door at 12:15 a.m. on their way out. The police also found pry marks on the door and frame.

DPSS included some safety and security tips alongside the crime alert, one of which recommended that students leave the lights on outside their homes at night.
